SETTLEMENT PROFILER

SETTLEMENT PROFILER

DESCRIPTION

The Settlement Profiler is used for measuring the settlement profile of a pipe/conduit at discrete points along the profile and also for settlement and vertical movements around tunnels, dams, embankments, roadways, storage tanks, and landfills.

The system consists of 2 sensors, tubing, a reservoir, the Ultra-Rugged Field PC2 and a spinning metal frame that houses the components and acts as a spool for the tubing. The first sensor is located at the end of the tubing and takes measurements down the pipe. The second sensor is located at the reservoir in the frame and provides a reference point.

The profiler is pulled along the horizontally-installed access pipe or conduit, which can consist of PVC or inclinometer casing. The probe is moved to discrete positions along the pipe and a reading is taken. The reading indicates the elevation difference between the reservoir and the down hole sensor, which can be compared over time to monitor the settlement profile of the pipe.

APPLICATIONS

Monitor settlement and vertical movements around tunnels, dams, embankments, roadways, storage tanks, and landfills.

Monitor stability adjacent to excavations or underground workings.

QUICK SPECS

Bluetooth connection with Ultra Rugged Field PC2 (included) for data collection.

Vented to atmosphere to compensate for barometric effects.

Coaxial Kevlar® reinforced tubing so that signal cable and tubing are combined into 1 piece. Tubing material minimizes air absorption into the de-aired fluid inside the tubing and prevents stretch of the tubing over time. Tubing is also meter marked so depth of probe is always known.

2 sensors: the first for taking measurements down the pipe, and the second for providing a reference point at the reservoir. The first sensor has a thread to connect to a pull cable for ease of movement along the pipe.

Frame spins around its axis to allow for easy of removal of tubing as it is pulled down the pipe. It also includes pallet notches to allow for ease of transport.

Small diameter (3/4” OD) probe which allows for readings to be taken in small diameter pipe.

BENEFITS

Increase Safety

High Reliability

Increase Productivity

High Accuracy
