On July 29, 2004 the RST Instruments Ltd. Management System officially became certified to ISO 9001:2000. The International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification is established on evidence of absolute corporate commitment to quality. Evaluation of RST’s quality-control systems were performed in management responsibility, design control, inspection and testing, delivery, internal quality audit procedures, training and servicing. With ISO 9001:2000 certification, RST Instruments Ltd. guarantees to customers that a quality control management system is in place and being strictly followed. Comprehensive audits are performed internally every 6 months and an external independent registrar also performs an audit every year to assure ISO 9001:2000 procedures are being adhered to. While RST has always practiced procedures that kept customer satisfaction as its main goal, it was time to make it official and become certified to an internationally recognized management system such as ISO 9001:2000. The achievement of this certification was fulfilled after months of preparation and fine-tuning of internal procedures to the strict standards that ISO 9001:2000 certification is based upon. The team work and commitment displayed by everyone at RST during this time was extremely evident in the results that QMI presented to RST at the end of their rigorous four-day audit. As a rarity, RST Instruments achieved certification on their first audit as opposed to additional audits that most other companies require after failing their initial audit. RST Instruments Ltd. President, Rob Taylor, stated that the certification is a key component of letting customers know that they are dealing with a company whose management system is customer satisfaction oriented. "We are committed to satisfying customer expectations and needs by providing first class quality products and services through customer satisfaction and continual improvement at every level of operation. Our Quality Management System is based upon the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and is intended to assist our customers in assessing our capability of meeting their requirements." Also the lead developer and engineer at RST Instruments, Mr. Taylor is well aware of the relationship between customer satisfaction and superior products. "It is our stated policy to provide the highest standards in product and service quality. It is a matter of pride to us that we provide first class quality instrumentation that are excellent by international standards and meet our performance commitments. Our aim is to achieve complete customer confidence by complying fully with our customers’ requirements through design, development, manufacture and installation of geotechnical and environmental instruments." Bob Kobetitch, Vice President Operations, oversees a majority of the manufacturing and processing procedures at RST and is extremely excited about how the management system is now in accordance with ISO 9001:2000. "Our goals of ultimate customer satisfaction are now fully established and maintained by an effective and efficient quality management system which is certified to ISO 9001:2000. The quality function is an integral part of all our day-to-day activities and must remain the focus of our attention at all times. Our team will ensure the services we supply conform to our contractual, legal and internal quality requirements." Certification was approved by QMI,
